Cas is staring at Dean when he wakes, he had been watching him before but the sudden change in his demeanor which had startled him. He was about to make his way over but stopped himself when Dean sat up.
"Good morning," He responded, voice no longer sounding as dry as it might have moments ago, "Water?"
Cas didn't call him out on it, even though he was sure they were both well aware of it. He just gave a small nod and took another sip from the bottle, "I'll stay here then. See if I can find anything on the news."
It was strange to see Cas so... dressed down like that. Like a normal person. Like a human.
"Yeah, sure, no problem." Setting the glass down, Dean headed over to the bed to tug on his boots, grab his wallet and keys, then head to the door. He paused as he opened it and looked back.
He stood there for a moment, watching Cas, then nodded, "Okay," and left the motel room. In the car, he sat there for a few moments, then started her up and headed for the nearest diner he could find to get them both coffee and some breakfast sandwiches for them both. If Cas didn't eat his, he'd just toss it in the fridge with the rest of his Chinese and eat it later.
He might be tempted if he knew Dean had got it for him, but chances were he would still cling to the fact that he didn't hunger yet and hoped it would stay that way for a long time. Eating might actually encourage more change and make him more human.
He took his time getting dressed which really just mean he spent several minutes trying to tie his tie properly yet no matter how he tried it always ended up hanging backwards just as it had before so he gave up and switched on the television to watch the news, making any notes of accidents or general strangeness in whatever headlines came up.
When Dean got back, he tossed his keys onto the table as well as the bags of food, then handed one of the coffee's to Cas before sitting down at the table to dig into his food, though he did leave one bag untouched for now.
"Seen anything we can hunt?" asked Dean between bites of his food.
"There was a girl who went missing in the north end of the city," he turned off the television and set the remote aside so he could now nurse the coffee Dean had brought for him, "Other than that, any violent or suspicious behavior appears to the sort of thing humans are capable of."
"Yeah? They have any leads? Any theories? Kids go missing all the time, doesn't mean it's our kinda thing." Which was sad but true, in this day and age. Kids run off all the time.
"No leads, they think someone kidnapped her," He sighed, "There weren't many details besides her description." Her parents had looked spooked which was why it had stood out to him. He figured it was something to note at the time.
"Well, we can check it out. If it's not anything we deal with, we'll let the locals take care of it." There was no harm in at least taking a look at the case.
"Sounds good," he says, finishing off one of the breakfast sandwiches he'd bought, taking a couple sips of his coffee. He wondered if there was a connection between the girl who just went missing and the one he read in the paper, who'd disappeared a month ago, the reason he thought there might be a case here in the first place.
"Do you think there's a connection?" Cas pondered the idea himself, wondering if maybe there were similarities shared between the two families and their missing daughters.
"There might be, I dunno. The kidnappings - or them going missing - are a couple weeks apart." Honestly, he's not sure what it is or even if it's their kinda thing. But... he can't ignore kids going missing like that, at least not without making sure it's nothing abnormal.
Castiel gives a nod, taking his time with finishing the cup of coffee before simply stating, "You can have the other one." Referring to the food Dean had bought for him.
He looks up from his food and raises a brow, glances at the bag sitting off to the side, untouched. "You sure?" He asks, just to be safe. He doesn't want to think about what it'll mean when Cas does start needing to eat.
So for now, he shrugs and tugs the bag over to him so he can eat the contents of the bag.
Once he's done eating, he wads up all the bags and tosses them into the tiny trashcan, then gets up from the table. Digging his keys out again, he nods toward the door as he heads for it.
He gives a short nod and pulls open the door, locking it behind them when they're both out of the room, then heads to the car, sliding in behind the wheel and turning her purring engine over.
The Library would probably be their best shot at the moment, get some more info about this place, any other strange disappearances, see if there are any connections before heading out to talk to the missing kid's parents.
Castiel finds himself in the passenger's side, listening to the slow build of sound in the engine before they begin moving. It's a relaxing sound, but Castiel knows there is work to be done. He thinks on what questions might be best to ask and how to lie as he clearly was not the best in that department.
Making connections would be easier once they had the information. Then they could figure out whether this was worth investigating further or calling a bust to move on from.
Rest well!
"Good morning," He responded, voice no longer sounding as dry as it might have moments ago, "Water?"
Morning! :D
There was a glass, upside down, that he picked up and rinsed out before filling it with water and gulping it down. "How you feelin' today? Better?"
Good morning! c:

"Want anything while I'm out?"

The urge to indulge was there but he resisted, simply glancing up to Dean instead.
